About Copyright Registration
Copyright is a legal right granted to the creator of original literary, artistic, musical, dramatic, cinematographic, and sound recording works. It protects the creator’s expression from unauthorized copying, reproduction, distribution, or commercial use.
Copyright registration provides official recognition of ownership and serves as strong legal evidence in case of infringement or disputes. Once registered, the copyright owner enjoys exclusive rights to use, publish, reproduce, and license the work, subject to the provisions of the Copyright Act, 1957.
Registering a copyright not only safeguards intellectual property but also enhances the commercial value of creative works by enabling lawful licensing, assignment, and monetization.
